Meeting Efficiency

This article explain why a presentation should not exceed 18 minutes total. For this, 15 minutes ideal meeting.  Not every meeting may be able to be done in 15 minutes, but for the general day to day stuff there's no reason to be wasting away for hours while nothing is accomplished. If you need a little help, try setting a 15 minute timer and when it goes off, meeting is done. If you guys heard of “meeting efficiency”, there are some company had begun practicing it. Why company practice meeting efficiency? 1. To improve productivity.    Employee able to attend several meetings/discussion in a day which also allow time for operation work related. 2. To avoid over shoot of meeting period due to limited meeting room available. This is to allow the room to free up on time for the next group that book the room. Rules in meeting efficiency: 1. 30 minutes is the maximum of a meeting for a group of less than 5 people and 1 hour is the maximum of a meeting for a group of more than 5 peop

Defrost steak in 5 mins without electricity?

This post from FineDiningLovers shows a good idea on how to defrost a steak in 5 minutes without microwave oven. By placing two metal pot, with the one on the top fill with water. This method allows ambient heats. How? The process is actually quite simple. All users have to do is place the steak on a metal pan that’s been turned over, place a second pan on top of that and fill the top pan with water. The increased pressure from the water and something called ambient heat, which is conducted very well by metal, work to defrost the meat without any electricity needed. I'm going to try this when there is a chance.

Betrothal (过大礼)

This procedure is the most important process to be done by the couple. Especially the groom. It is as important as tea ceremony. Even for some couple that prefer honeymoon wedding, they still require to have at least a tea ceremony with the parents and of course betrothal not to miss. This two process is unavoidable for Chinese culture. The betrothal gifts are delivered up to a month and at least three days before the wedding day. The groom and a friend or a matchmaker will deliver the gifts on the auspicious date chosen. Betrothal gifts 娉礼 The betrothal gifts (quantity of the following items to be determined by the bride's parents) are packed in a multi-tiered wedding basket that is borrowed from a Chinese wedding cake shop and typically include: western and chinese wedding cakes, which you may choose either one too. Most people will choose Chinese wedding cakes. You can also replace with the big size "tau sar pneah". two bottles of brandy. You can replace it with red wi

Traditional Simplified Malaysia Chinese Wedding Ceremony

Image
As from my previous post about the Modern Simplified wedding, I write about the shorter process and shorter time required. However, on my own wedding, I choose traditional style of wedding ceremony. One of the main reason is that my wife want to have games during our wedding ceremony so that we can create some memorable moment for friends. After all the thought, I arrange for a dance session during the games. It took me couple of weeks to practice the dance choreograph and took me overnight to teach my friends. The second reason as our wedding dinner was not held at hotel but at restaurant. Therefore, it will lack of space for the tea ceremony. If make it at hotel, at least I can request for a small function room. The agenda as following. On Saturday noon, I gather my dance buddies for teaching the dance move. I choreograph the flow and arrangement for couple of hours. Just after 2 hours practice, I had to leave for the preparation of the wedding dinner. My buddies still practicing on

Modern Simplified Malaysia Chinese Wedding Ceremony

I'm a married man. I had my wedding in traditional way but with a lot of simplification. However, both my cousin brother and my cousin sister, they had a even simplified way of wedding ceremony. Both of their wedding ceremony are quite similar as it had been known as modern simplified style. I had colleagues also having the same ceremony. I found a blog explain a traditional Chinese wedding style in Malaysia here . I'm not going to explain on this but I will talk more on the simplified wedding style. This style suitable especially if you have a lot of relatives comes from overseas or outstation and you want to make to as simple yet fulfill the most important part of the wedding. The bride and groom will book for a hall at the hotel where the wedding dinner take place. They will also request for a hotel room, or most of the time when they book a dinner night at the hotel, the management will provide a room for couple. They usually will choose to upgrade to a larger room (suites

Do you not invest because of fear? of what?

I come through an article about  How to Get Over Your Fear of Investing . I'm personally a newbie in investment. I started stock investment last year 2013. Well if talk about investment, what is it actually? Is FD (Fixed Deposit) an investment? Property is an investment? If talk about FD, I had started to place FD since 10 years ago. It is because FD is safer and lower risk compare to others investment. In year 2009, property bloom happens in Malaysia. Ever since then, a lot of the properties spike almost double in less than 3 years. No doubt those invested/purchase few properties before 2009 will earn a big lump sum. I started to do business since year 2004. I was only age 20 at that time. I started small business related to broadband (Streamyx) registration, installation, PC services and etc. I was still studying in University at that moment. The work and business is tough. The return is too little and I'm looking for fast money. I stop this and move towards multi-level netwo

When we think about Donnie Yen, we will link it to Ip Man. Previously when Ip Man release, a lot people pronounce it as I.P. Man or (Internet Protocol Man). I first also thought it was some hacking movie or Matrix alike type of movie due to the movie poster. It looks to me as Donnie Yen is an IP Man that able to travel into virtual world via Internet Protocol and have some kind of super power ability in the virtual world. In fact it turn out to be Yip Man, the master of Bruce Lee. It is quite at first as not many people planning to watch this but it turn out to be a great movie. People start recommending. After the Ip Man and Ip Man 2, he cast in few more great movie such as  Bodyguards and Assassins ,  Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen ,  Dragon  and etc. Then more bad movies coming. He cast in All's Well, Ends Well since 2009. It is not good movie but it just a Chinese New Year movies where lots of lame jokes kick in. Donnie Yen jokes is always Ip Man, Wing Chun and lot
